ARTICLE INTERVIEW WITH NICHIAS HAIPHONG COMPANY - 5S ASSESSMENT AND TRAINING

Mr. KAWASAKI – currently the General Director of NICHIAS HAIPHONG company, is a person who always devotes a lot of enthusiasm to training and developing Vietnamese human resources. Aimnext Vietnam had the opportunity to accompany NICHIAS HAIPHONG company in 2 projects " Management by Objectives System" (Refer to Table “MBO Project Roadmap”) in December 2022 and the project "Evaluating 5S price and training” (Refer to Chard “5S Project Roadmap”) in 2023. The impression we had about NICHIAS HAIPHONG every time we visit is the happy atmosphere at a great workplace, and all of the staff always welcomed us with their enthusiasm and warmth.

Following the training and consulting project on implementing "Goal-based management system", Aimnext had the opportunity to implement the service "Evaluate 5S activities at 3 factories" and provide training on how to conduct 5S for 30 students of the company. Mr. Kawasaki was satisfied with the effectiveness of the program.

【About the project 5S Evaluation and Training on how to conduct 5S】 

After conducting an assessment of 5S activities in 3 areas of the factory, we decided to organize a training course "How to conduct 5S" with a duration of 2 days.

■ Question 1:What made you decide to organize this 5S Assessment and Training Project? 

Because Aimnext previously organized a course on MBO as well as performed 5S Assessment services at our company, and we also found that the MBO training program brought really good results, trainers from Aimnext also explained the key points very clearly. Therefore, we also believe that Aimnext will implement the same 5S training program this time.

We held a meeting about 5S Assessment, and since our company has only done 5S Assessment internally so far, we decided to invite an outside expert to do the audit to know more about the assessment results from the outside. That is the main reason I chose to organize this project.

■ Question 2: Did you feel any effectiveness from 5S Assessment and Training Project?

Yes, I realized that it was effective. 

Firstly, about Trainer, he has many experiences in the field not only at Japanese companies but also at many other factory companies, so when he came to our company to assess, he was able to evaluate relative situations from an outside perspective. The assessment results of our company were really bad. (Laugh). 

I realized that, compared to other factories, we still have a long way to go. And because trainer was an expert, he pointed out and checked many points that needed improvement before and after, so I found it very effective.
